The Coalition of Youth for Good Governance in Nigeria has commended the Inspector General of Police for dismissing ASP Usman Nuhu and his team over the unlawful killing of a young Nigerian.

In a press statement by national co-ordinator of the coalition, Benedict Olalere called the dismissal “a welcome development” and urged authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of the case.

“Justice must go beyond dismissal,” the statement read. “The family of the victim, and indeed all Nigerians, deserve nothing less than full justice.”

The coalition also called for intensified police reforms, human rights training, and strengthened internal discipline mechanisms.

“We will continue to monitor this case closely and stand with the Nigerian people in demanding a system that respects and protects every citizen,” the statement noted.
