Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Assures Citizens Of Support During Economic Transition

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed empathy for citizens grappling with economic challenges, outlining measures to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices.

In his latest newsletter on Sunday, Governor Makinde announced a ₦10,000 monthly allowance for civil servants for the next three months, starting April 2026.

He also pledged continued support for small businesses and artisans.

On politics, Governor Makinde acknowledged concerns of citizens who are concerned about the 2027 transition, progress of prayers for the state and country, saying consultations with stakeholders are ongoing, and he will announce his position by the first week of May.

Meanwhile, Governor Makinde noted that he awaits the Supreme Court’s decision on the PDP’s status to decide his next political steps, assuring the citizens of continued responsible leadership, prioritizing the collective good
